Polar Monkeys Cold Plunge & Chiller Review

Last Updated Jul 31, 2025

When shopping for an ice bath, one brand you’re likely to come across is Polar Monkeys. With bold, edgy branding and some seriously eye-catching designs, they’ve carved out a unique space in the cold plunge market. But with all the hype surrounding their tubs—especially the Brainpod series—you might be wondering: Is it just clever marketing, or do the products actually deliver? In this review, we’ll break down the pros, cons, and everything in between to help you decide if a Polar Monkeys plunge is the right fit for your recovery routine.

The Polar Monkeys’ Ice Baths

Overall, we’re genuinely impressed with the Polar Monkeys ice baths. They offer excellent options in both vertical formats—ideal for tighter spaces—and horizontal layouts, which we personally prefer. The tubs are beautifully designed, with several models featuring stainless steel interiors. Stainless steel is widely regarded as the best material for ice baths thanks to its durability, resistance to bacteria buildup, and grounding properties.

That said, one drawback is the lack of insulation. While the tub walls are thick and solid, the absence of proper insulation is a concern—especially at this premium price point. It’s a detail we’d expect to see addressed in a product at this level.

The Cyberplunge has a beautiful footprint.

Polar Monkey’s Chiller

We generally don’t recommend all-in-one chiller units. In our experience, they often come with undersized pumps that struggle to maintain consistent water flow. Additionally, the integrated ozone systems are difficult to verify in terms of effectiveness. Perhaps most importantly, if something goes wrong, the sealed design makes it nearly impossible to access or repair internal components—leading to costly replacements rather than simple fixes.
