Plunge (As Seen on Shark Tank)

We were so excited to try one of the most popular ice baths on the market – The Plunge. Popularized for being on Shark Tank, this ice bath has made its way into the homes of many celebrities and influencers as the premier cold plunge on the market. A huge step up from traditional ice baths, this plug-and-play cold plunge requires no ice and will leave you with cold water all year round.

The Price

The Plunge comes in a few different options, ranging from $5,000 for the base model to $7,500 for the Larger Model with both heating and cooling.

At the time of this review, we have not tried the heating model of this ice bath.

Features

Cooling Down to 39 Degrees Farenghight

The Plunge Plugs into an outlet and allows you to set your temperature on a digital thermometer. The plunge is capable of getting down to 39 degrees Fahrenheit. While we wish this bath could get colder, 39 degrees is acceptable for a proper plunge.

Self Cleaning

  • Ozone Sanitation to break down unwanted contamination.
  • 20 Micron filter to help remove any leaves, hair, dirt, etc.
  • Circulation Filtration keeps the water moving and circulating, which helps to eliminate mold/bacteria.

Underwater Light

Not exactly the most necessary feature, but certainly a nice-to-have. Allowing you to plunge at night and create that certain special vibe!

Set-Up Time

We were shocked at how easy the Plunge is to set up. Once you get it situated, it’s just a matter of connecting a few tubes from the chiller to the tub. They make it very easy with videos on their website and detailed paper instructions. Overall this took us less than 20 minutes to set up, and a lot of that time was just filling up the tub with water.

The Look

It looks like a sleek, fancy bathtub – pure, glossy white, easy to clean, and keeps looking fresh for a long time. It’s made of acrylic and fiberglass, which are tough and will survive the elements. It’s also fully insulated, so there is no condensation on the outside of the tub, which is a feature we love when compared to other ice baths.

The Plunge stands out from every other ice bath we’ve tested. Thanks to its sleek, modern design, it can certainly blend into any home or gym setting.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking to take a step up in your ice bath investment and buy something that uses electricity to keep the water cold, we cannot recommend this enough. While it may feel expensive at $5,000, it’s still much cheaper than many of its competitors, and the convenience of not having to buy ice and having cold water all year around will surely pay for itself.

The support team at The Cold Plunge is also nothing short of amazing. They have so many resources and guides for set up and use – we absolutely love this company and feel it’s one that you can really trust. Although we don’t think you’ll need it as everything is so high quality – every plunge comes with a 1-year warranty and the ability to add on more years.

At the end of the day, this unit makes it so much easier and more accessible if you’re serious about adding cold plunging to your daily routine. Give it a shot for significant improvements in recovery time after workouts, reduced inflammation, and an overall increase in energy levels – all in the comfort of your own home!
