Our Full Review of the Morozko Ice Plunge

The Look and Form Factor

The Morozko Ice Plunge boasts an elegant and functional design that distinguishes it from traditional horizontal ice baths. Its vertical configuration allows users to sit upright, which in my opinion is more comfortable than being scrunched up like I am in the Mod Plunge but less comfortable than being able to lay out fully.

The Image above shows my arms fully extended in the Morozko Ice Plunge, showing adequate space and a comfortable seat. For reference, I am 6’1 and weigh 200 lbs.

Another notable feature of this ice bath is its compact footprint. All operational components are cleverly housed underneath the step, maximizing the available floor space. This thoughtful design makes it ideal for those with limited space without compromising on functionality or aesthetics.

The Wood

Material quality is a hallmark of the Morozko Ice Plunge, which uses premium, knot-free woods to create a robust and aesthetically pleasing structure. The structural border is crafted from durable cedar, known for its resistance to rot and moisture. In contrast, the main body of the bath is constructed from birch, a wood prized for its fine grain and smooth surface. Both types of wood are treated and stained to enhance their waterproof qualities and to provide protection against UV rays, ensuring longevity and maintaining the beauty of the wood despite frequent exposure to water and sunlight.

Temperature Regulation & Ice Formation

One of the standout features of the Morozko Forge ice bath is its temperature regulation system. The unit is equipped with an internal thermometer, ensuring that the temperature remains consistent and accurate. Stored in the northern compartment of the system, the temperature regulation system is very easy to use, and unlike many systems, this allows for temperatures as low as 33 degrees (our preferred setting).

Ice Formation

Perhaps our favorite feature and most unique feature is the ice production system. Unlike homemade ice baths like the Galvanized Stock Tank that often create a layer of ice on top of the water, the ice in the Morozko Forge forms on the bottom of the tub. Then, thanks to a heating unit installed on the bottom of the tub, the ice then floats to the top of the water.

This innovative design not only allows you to be surrounded by cold water but also ice, giving you a truly immersive experience. Also, you don’t have to worry about breaking the ice off the edges of the tub, which could potentially damage it.

Sitting in the Morozko Ice Plunge with self-made ice

The image above shows me sitting in the Ice Plunge with it’s self-made ice. Keep in mind this was in Phoenix, AZ, with 90-degree ambient air temperature, and it only took about 16 hours to make this much ice.

And, of course, if you don’t want ice, you can simply select a temperature that’s warmer, such as 45 or 50 degrees, depending on your preference.

Ozone Cleaning

One of the main issues with homemade ice baths is the buildup of bacteria and other undesirable substances in the water, which requires frequent water changes. The Morozko Forge, on the other hand, addresses this concern with an ingenious feature – an ozone generator that bubbles just the right amount of ozone into the water, continuously disinfecting it. As a result, you won’t have to change the water in a Morozko Forge ice bath for a very long time, making it a hassle-free investment for your health and wellness routine.

The ozone generator is a game-changer, ensuring the water remains clear and cold, even with multiple daily users. Furthermore, ozone is a potent yet non-toxic disinfectant, guaranteeing that the water is safe and clean for you and your loved ones.

Without jumping into the nitty gritty, the Morozko Forge also helps you with grounding. Grounding is the process of connecting your body to the earth and comes with many benefits.

Due to the metal tank and the way this ice bath is built, it has the EMF profile equivalent of swimming in an ocean or stream, allowing you to be grounded while you plunge.

The Negatives

First and foremost – the price! It’s certainly expensive, and there are many similar ice baths out there that offer most of the same features for more than half the price. It also does have a distinguished look that may not necessarily be for everyone or match their current setup.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking to invest in your health and want the best of the best – the gold standard in cold plunges – go with the Morozko Forge. Packed with features, this ice bath is guaranteed to last a lifetime and is a phenomenal way to take your health to the next level!
